Hi just restored my Honda SS50. Rebuilt the clutch ( it’s the single plate type) with new plates . Cleaned and inspected it and put back together , with all the parts.
However it won’t engage , no matter how I adjust it . Advice ?

hairygit:
When you say it won't engage, do you mean no drive from engine to gearbox, or it won't disengage as in won't release the drive from the engine to gearbox?

Hi , I mean when you pull clutch in there is still drive to wheel .

hairygit:
Right, so it doesn't  disengage. Is there any "feel" at the clutch lever that things are happening? Did you ensure the small actuator that fits in the release bearing was located properly (the bit that engages with the release fork in the clutch cover) as they can fall out easily unseen. Was it working before you fitted the new plates?

Hi yeah there’s feel at clutch lever . When I adjust the adjuster it meets resistance and I back off 1/4 turn . When I pull lever in the drive is maintained to real wheel it doesn’t make any difference. As far as I know I didn’t see it fall out .
