You could actually be feeling the return spring fitted to the release arm on the cover casing, and possibly the previous owner has lost the bit, I'll see if I can find a picture of the bit I'm talking about.

I take it your talking about the little tube piece with the spring inside ? I fitted that piece.

What you where referring to I assume was the "Oil through piece" and it's spring, the bit I mean is this. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
