And a heady 4k for the CB250RSA! :o
All the bikes appear to be reaching well over estimate.  The CBX sold for 13,250 after some last second bidding.  Nice history to go with it.

Ash - you should drop Roger Etcell an email and see if you can get the contact details for the winning bidder. I’m sure they would love to buy the carbs.

No Rush ..still got a really, really  faint lead on the other pair ! Just wish Chris had won it he was Dave's friend for the past 30 years.
Conversely it’s nice that the owners family have benefited from his collecting over the years..

I think it's a bargain compared to this handbag that sold for £279.000 at auction, that was second hand too  ;D ;D ;D

Did the obligatory small dog to go with the bag sell as a separate lot Julie?

That handbag had a load of gold and diamonds which at least would indicate some sort of inherent value.
A motorbike is worth bugger-all as scrap once the buyers have vanished (or died out…)
Don’t forget the the sellers premium (20%?) plus VAT.
That 140k is really at least 200k

So is the vat only payable on the premium? 15% sounds almost charitable!

If you missed out on the CB750 I could sell you a nearly finished CB250RSA for a 'reasonable' 3,750  ;)

We're all  in the wrong business. If you look at HandH terms it says:
Motorcycles
12.5% to the Buyer, 10% to the Seller (minimum £50 to both parties)

So does this mean that it is that £140k +12.5% + VAT (of £17.5k)
And the seller only gets £126k ??

No worries  ..about 1:30pm my missus announced I had to drive her in the van  to return some play props she borrowed before 3pm...I wasn't best pleased. Missed the sale of the CB350K0  but got back just in time for 750pp .missed the 750K2 though.

My mate Chris was at the auction so when I hear fromhim he may know who was bidding .. One suggestion was George Beale who's now a director at H&H

https://www.handh.co.uk/news-videos/britains-mr-motorcycle-george-beale-appointed-director-of-hh/

Amazed at the scabby finish of the pp 750 auction ... same thing happened at the Bonhams sale of the UK press CB750 YLY70H.. I still don't know what happened to that one. Sold but not sold at that auction !

UPDATE ... word on the street is that  Brighton bike was  won by someone based in the UK

I would be very surprised if the winning bidder wasn't an agent for Honda, that belongs in their museum. Strange they didn't get it back at the time, prototypes are usually destroyed.

Triumph Trident 660 in Black/White

Honda CB450K0 Black Bomber
Honda CB750K5 in Planet Blue Metallic (Current Project)
