I have my 1970's Bell star in the Attic, as it was fibreglass it got 'treated' to a few home made rattlecan paint jobs, including a Peter Williams replica 'W' white on dark blue. When I first bought it (by mail order) noone else had a full face helmet, I was inspired by their advert 'If you have a $10 head, buy a $10 helmet'.
I recall Bob Heath has owned a few nice classic bikes over the years. I used to buy black (and clear) race visors off him in the classic racing paddocks, if he didn't know you he was legally required to see your racing licence first, before he could sell you one. I still have a Bob Heath anti visor fogging spray, though Fairy Liquid works just as well (Michael Rutter, a true rain master, used to send me out to buy it for him when I worked for the Honda Superbike team, he was very insistent on the brand).
Now I have a modern Bell with a 'reactolite' visor, if ever challenged by the police for having a dark visor on a sunny day, I shall put it in the shade while I find my documents...
