I am sure the last time I was visiting Watford classic cars, that they had them for less than a 20 pound note Indeed. This looks like the best deal out there:https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AccuSpark-Professional-S8000-Ignition-Strobe-Timing-Lamp-Light-/331737007734?hash=item4d3d110676

This is the same problem that I have with my existing Draper unit. Makes an easy 5 minute job into half an hour of frustrating fiddling. Have now bought a secondhand Gunson strobe that the reviews say has a rock solid pickup. When I get it, I will report back how good (or crap) it is. Same as this one but better condition https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GUNSONS-12-V-DC-TIMESTROBE-XENON-TIMING-LIGHT-AND-INDUCTIVE-PICK-UP/382399864099?hash=item5908cedd23:g:UF0AAOSwnHZYl0MQ
That Accuspark S8000 is the one I have that didn't work at all - is there any about that use the strobe HT inline rather than using clip on induction - maybe that's the issue!Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
Been reading loads of feedback from various places before I got another. It appears that all the inductive ones are a bit hit and miss whatever the make. Whenever I think I have found a reliable one, someone always reports back that their one was crap. What about the expensive ones like Snap On, are they any good. Don't mind paying out as long as I never have to buy another. Probably all Chinese s**t like everything else you buy these days. A whole nation who's entire output is just millions of tons of Landfill a year. Sorry, it's turning into a rant again.
