CB 500/4 Classic Racer

We currently run a 500 in the local (S Africa) classic class. Looking for a "big-bore "
kit (605-610). Yesterday it was mentioned that early XL 125 - 175 pistons would work
Can anyone confirm that the cudgin pin to crown heights are the same and that the cudgin pin dia would be the same

Hello mate and welcome.

Most of us are in the UK here (with a smattering of Americans and others)

605 kits come up on eBay every once in a while - usually being auctioned by David Silver Spares! You could do worse than call or email them about availability as they don't usually put that stuff up on their site:

One the subject of 125/175 pistons and gudgeon pin sizes, our resident expert is Bryan Jones. You can email him on bljATblj.org.uk

Here's a full Dresda/Yoshi 500/4 sprinter (drag bike) that campaigns around the UK.

To go 605 you use modified standard CB750 pistons but the liner gets VERY thin at the bottom--better if you get 550 barrels but you MAY have to open up the crankcases, seems to be a bit of inconsistency as some fit straight on and others dont
