Oops, to be fair there are at least 2 of us working on the bike!

Started up for the first time last Saturday, filters still off for the time being, started great no leaks ;D

Unfortunately only on 3 at tick over (clogged idler jet I think)

Here's a quick video of it earlier

Will take it out tomorrow to test further (also fitted my recently re-acquired flat bars).

although to be fair to me, i have been riding my new firestorm like an eejit about the place so havent been in the shed for ages. youre doing a grand job there though, keep the pics coming.

Moxey:
Took it for the maiden voyage to the petrol station last week, all running well barring the idle (a clean and balancing should sort that, I also think I'd prefer to run the original airbox so going to hunt one down).

Took it for a bit longer run last night just to bed the new rings in and I noticed on return a bit of smoke emanating from the crankcase breather tube :o now I don't think this is normal so I'm going to check the oil for contamination, read a few sources online that vary from this is normal to your rings are buggered, its comparable to this example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8ki1LJEJW0.

On a lesser note I found the grease nipple I fitted to the swingarm is inaccessible with my grease gun ::) lucky it was packed quite thoroughly before fitting, 90 degree nipple on order.

Good effort with this 750F2. Brings back lots of memories of my one many years ago

At the Isle of Man TT in 1980

Moxey:
Ah Yoshi 823 I didn't realise you'd posted here, it was your thread on BCF that set me after an F2 in the first place! Yours was a stunner shame, how it ended up.

Acquired a spare set of barrels for the 750 that were a little damaged, came with the 65mm pistons to take it up to 836 if I so wish.

The damage.

Chucked them in the works oven at 85 degrees for about 20 minutes then proceeded to tap them out nice and easy.

3 of the fins on one side were also damaged so welded them back on (bottom left).

Little bit of filing and they should look as new, provided my contact in Middlesbrough gets in touch I should be able to get some NOS 836 rings so should only cost the new sleeves + machining of and soda blasting and I have a cheap 836 kit (fingers crossed!)
