I think that when an item goes 'Out Of Stock' with some of the large Suppliers/ Dealers on E Bay, the price 'automatically' jumps to a crazy price to stop Customer placing any more orders. The other prices on their website are 'normal'.

It says on the listing if you have any queries about this product, contact us, so I have. I have asked them if this is a typing error or if they are intentionally taking the piss. I will let you know their response.....if I get one !!!
Agree with Alan (MCTID), a stupid price like this usually comes up when they have run out of stock. Bertrums Bits is another company that do it this way.

Talking of stuff being 'In Stock' or not: I checked out a TV on the Curry's Website on Sunday Morning. The TV I wanted was not in stock at my local Branch in Blackpool so I went there and had a looksee at a smaller model, which confirmed it was what we wanted. Curry's Website said that both their Stores in Preston (15 miles away) had the TV I wanted in stock so I drove over. Dead busy as the world and his Brother were all visiting the Retail Park with it being a Sunday (being retired I rarely visit such places at Weekends or Bank Holidays.

I asked for the TV at the Customer Services desk....and the nice young Techie bloke checked his PC and said 'Oh.....you shouldn't believe ANYTHING the Curry's Website says....it's not in stock Sir.......14 will be in on 15 September and there are 16 people waiting to collect them......on 28 September 87 will arrive in Newark.....then they get sent to Manchester to be distributed throughout the UK so we 'might' have some here a week or so after that'.

We had a nice leisurely drive all around the outskirts of Preston (to miss the huge traffic jams) and went back to the retail park in Blackpool where we bought said TV at Argos - 100 metres from the Curry's Store.

Doesn't it tell you something about mega organisations like Curry's when their front line Staff say things like 'Oh....you shouldn't believe anything that the Curry's Website says'.

If the Website say's its 'Not in stock' then I can look for alternatives, instead of wasting my day and driving 30 odd miles for SFA. Argos will probably get more of my business in future.

It was already a slow seller. Took three years to sell the 8 at £8.95 and no sales since May 17. I guess it was the 11000% increase.
