750 F2 engine bars..
« on: September 26, 2018, 06:19:12 PM »
Hi..I recently picked up some engine bars for my cb750/F2...but on trying to fit them I realized the 2 engine mounting bolts will be to short in length !!! ..is my easiest solution to just buy some longer threaded bar ? As I don't think bolts etc will work because of channel that mounting rod runs through?.. Any thoughts welcome...regards Wil.

Probably, or take an angle grinder and thin the mounting blocks down on the frame( DON'T DO THAT!, only kidding!)
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

I would not use threaded bar . After some years the road grit collects in the threaded part and is a nightmare to get the bars back out, if need be.
Any good engineering firm will make you a longer set of mounting bars and bolts  ;)

New ones came with longer bolts and nuts to fit as the thread was different
