CB750 Front end "wobble"
« on: March 21, 2008, 03:49:15 PM »
I know the subject of CB750 handling problems has been mentioned before, but did we come up with any solutions? My CB750 has a wobble on the front end, and I've checked everything!!
The head races are taper roller, and adjusted fine, the wheels are balanced, forks seem ok, and the swinging arm bushes are good. The tyres look OK, made by Continental, with plenty of tread left.
I'm a bit unsure about their sizes 110/90-19 front and 120-90-18 rear??? are there correct? Parts manual lists a 3.25-19 front!!

Hope someone can help.
Regards,
Keith.

Hey Keith,

You're right about the front tyre size, it's to big. Try a 90/90-19, should do the trick. People tend to go to wide with their tyre's. Tyre pressure?

Good luck, Rob
Better sorry for failing than for the lack of trying.

Altering tyre pressures by a little as 1Lb can make a big difference, also headraces slightly too tight

:) HI have you checked your front wheel spindle ? this can only be fitted one way although it does fit both ways if you know what i mean (it will be offset resulting in poor handleing and pad wear )but it must be fitted the correct way and the spindle must be inserted from the right hand side when viewed from the back of the bike the tyres should be 3.25-19 front and 4.00-18 rear but you can go up as much as 4.10-19 front 26 psi and 4.25-18 rear 29 psi ,im not sure of the modern sizes (i have always used classic type tyres )but yours sound about right ,i have always used ribbed front tyres as recomended by honda for the cb750 with no problems ,other than that check your wheel bearings does it wobbles above certain speeds or all the time ?
