Any suggestion for a disk lock that fits?
« on: December 01, 2018, 08:58:44 PM »
Hi guys. I’ve just bought a XENA xx15 for my cb550. I was quite confident it could fit having the throat 60mm deep (my disc is 55mm). Sadly the steel connections between the rotor and the wheel have tight holes and stops the XENA too early  and I cannot close it. Any suggestion on how to solve the problem? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Rob. Yes, I could. I just wanted something portable. But I guess the the xx15 is the model of disk brake that has the deeper throat on the market...

When out, I use a couple of locks on the Hondas that are just ordinary padlocks with a long hasp. Otherwise, I use a "Ducati ST2" accessory lock with a large hoop that fits around the drive side shock absorber and then passes through the rear wheel. The small locks fit under the seat when not in use, the larger type can be easily dropped into the top box if I am parking up for longer.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I was looking to something that has an alarm built-in. Is there any good padlock that includes that? No disc lock fits on the CB550 rotor. That’s a shame !

Good clip on youtube of a 'locked' bike and they just pick it up and chuck it in a van then presumably cut the lock off later. Always chain mine to a post
