Honda CB400f cam sprocket
« on: December 27, 2018, 08:36:35 PM »
Dear All, quick question about the camshaft sprocket, there are two versions, the solid earlier one and the later lighter version with holes. When do you mount the the big black washer? Only with the solid sprockets? Or always? Please advise. Kind regards, Emiel

Many different cam sprockets on a 400 four, even some solid ones never had the big black washer  ;)

Ok, but is the big washer needed at all? It is not 100% flat, maybe pre tension? Am I safe to mount lighter/open sprocket with out the washer?

The sprung washer is only for use on the solid sprocket. If using a holed sprocket, then a dab of retainer on the two bolts is required  ;)
