Service History Record?
« on: December 30, 2018, 12:06:57 PM »
What does everybody use as a service history record. I have a photographic record of all the builds I do (in an album when the builds are completed) but since the rebuilds, I have just wrote the date, mileage and what i've done in the service on an A4 sheet of paper.
Is there any Honda service record books available - seem to remember they came with the bikes when I had new bikes in 70's -  I've just bought this off ebay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Blank-Car-Van-Service-History-Book-Maintenance-Record-all-Makes-Models/332858111193?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 - but would prefer anything original Honda if available
Cheers
Phil

Same as yourself really Phil. Complete photographic portfolio of all our own restorations and then onto the good old fashioned pen and paper history. On non restored bikes, as well as routine servicing, i also include tyre changes, fork refurbs etc and all other routine maintenance. I like the idea of a service book though.

I’ve used an Excel spreadsheet for all my bikes. One tab for the MOT record and one for the service record with date, mileage and cost.

If/when you sell, just print it out.

I saw one of those for sale on fleabay a couple of weeks ago Jason, in USA i think. I'm sure the seller said it was for an early CB750/4.

It's got "check centrifugal oil filter" in the schedule,  so at a guess that may push it toward the twins of a certain age range.

These are typical of  early 1980's service pack.

The red and black vehicle service book a friend has issued in 1979 for his 750 F2 which records original services from zero miles.

The official manuals have in them the detailed schedule to be completed at various mileage intervals,  may help in producing a current record for your bike.
