Honda and its laquer
« on: January 01, 2009, 07:03:21 PM »
Started to dismantle the K1 and find the fork legs are still mostly laquered. What is the common approach here, strip, polish and re laquer? or stop at the polishing?

I guess Halfords clear laquer is OK for this application. The same will apply for the engine cases and the rocker cover. Views appreciated.

Hapy new year folks

I just polished mine, but then I think polishing aluminium is part of the joy of motorcycle ownership! ::)

Now stripping again as they look better polished :)

Bad luck Steve, I am in the middle of polishing the forks now. Slow old process, but will be satisfied when it's done.

After that it's the casings
