New Member from Lincolnshire. Hello my name is Hayden and I live in South Lincs. I'm a fabricator and currently build bridges for a living. I started off as a sheet metal worker and have moved through the industry to where I now build/refurbish bridges mainly for the rail industry.
About six years ago I bought a CB750K1 in bits that had sat in a barn for a number of years. Full of good intention of rebuilding it, its moved house twice and no further on ! Untill now that is. When I bought the bike I first thought it may be a K0 because of its early '71 reg- May.(Any one know of an older U.K. K1) ?
I gave the one of the apprentices at work dimensions for an engine stand and 24 hours later the engine is in the stand on my work bench with the top end off. Thanks Dec. My aim is to build a track bike that puts out about 100hp at the rear wheel and handles/stops like a modern'ish bike. I want it to look like an early 70's race bike but under closer inspection it has more up to date bits on it.
This is where I need HELP. I know nothing about improving the engine on a CB750. Cams, piston kits, valve spings, clutch etc. Who makes quality tried and tested parts ? Engine capacity ? 750,810,836,900 and did I see 970 ! ? As for the frame I hope to use one I will make myself from either cm4130,T45 or maybe the new Reynolds 631 tubing (due May). I will post pictures on my progress. Thanks. Great site. Hayden.
