Character Sets?
« on: February 03, 2009, 10:28:58 AM »
John, the recent weather and posting activity leads me to ask if there's a setting that allows additional characters to be used in posts.

Like a "degrees" character for example.

I can do it on my Blackberry under "symbols" but SMF doesn't seem to have the facility (unless there's an add-on?)

BTW: Triumph Forum doesn't do it either (they use vBulletin)

So do you paste the character into the post each time you want to use it?

OK.

Not quite what I had in mind (a pull-down-menu would have been nice)

If you hold down the ALT key, the editor will accept UTF-8 character codes.

eg:

<ALT>0176 =
