New Cepok OE K1 seat damaged in transit!
« on: September 20, 2019, 10:51:44 PM »
My new OE K1 seat arrived today via DHL from Andy Cepok (via his eBay store), it was in a retaped Honda box and pretty poorly packed inside and as a result the seat catch was forced through the bottom of the box and the safety catch hook was bent at 90 Deg.   I've emailed Cepok and asked for a replacement catch/hook, but I think I know what the answer (if any) will be. but we'll see?

This is my first purchase from AC and must admit the whole experience with them has not been one I would want to repeat in a hurry; poor communication, delayed acknowledgment of Paypal payment (I had to tell them it was processed), estimated delivery date missed by 3 days and now this.  :(

Other than the catch, the seat itself is excellent new condition so I'll just have to dismantle the catch and straighten out the hook - I intend to keep the original seat even though it has a slight split and the foam is beginning to crumble.

Thanks for the info and kind offer Steff.

I'll have a go at straightening it and happy to leave it off (although I could always swap it off the other seat if I need to) - in fact you jogged a distant memory as I didn't remember a safety catch on my UK K1 and thought it was a bit of a phaff opening the seat when I bought the bike from UK Pete.

Cheers
Andrew

Steve,

The postage was pretty reasonable (£25),  but would have happily paid a bit more for them to have taken more care with thier packaging, although it doesn't always follow. The main incentive for using Andy Cepok was an approximately saving of £270 over buying one from Japan or the States.

Cheers,
Andrew

I have also had some decent parts damaged because the packing was less than adequate.........it makes you wonder what kind of dopes some Companies employ.

The worst was a newly built Triumph rear wheel (very, very expensive) where the hub bearing thread wasn't properly protected and the internal thread was badly damaged where some dope had dropped the parcel !

Always reminds me of the Jasper Carrot sketch where the Post Office worker holds up a large envelope and says to all his co workers "Photographs - do not bend" and he proceeds to fold the envelope in half proudly announcing "Oh yes they do" !
Now: 2008 CB1300S, CB750K4, 1970 Bonneville. Various other 1960's 650 Triumph T120's/ TR6's/ TR6C's (all in bits...many, many bits unfortunately). Previous: 2007 CB600FA, 1976 CB500 Four. BMW F800ST. GS750E. ZZR1100. CB1300 (2). ZXR1200S. VFR800. CB750 Nighthawk. CX500. XS500 Yam. Suzuki GT500. BSA A10. Various Lambrettas. Zundapp Bella (honest).

I have used him twice, he sent completely different looking item which was a superseded part yet his picture was of an original 1869 part, also he sent me aftermarket parts after advertising as genuine honda,  I will never deal with him again

I would also not recommend Andy.

I am nt buying from him anymore as well....

“Andy Cepok” has 53,000 live listings on eBay.

He must be a company.

Like David Silver is a company.
