Wiring problem rev2

Right - think I will exhaust my stock of goodwill with you all, but here goes anyway

Blowing 15A fuse I think is sorted - fine, we'll see how it goes. Many thanks to all

Now connecting things up, and as far as I can see, everything has gone back exactly the same way - except regulator is disconnected.

Here's the thing

With the 15A and the 7A headlight fuse in place - all seems good. Ignition on and we have dash lights, indicators work, starter works etc - all good.
With the 15A, the 7A headlight fuse in place, and then the 7A tail fuse in place. Ignition on, and woe! All 4 indicators on permanently, but at least headlight and tail lamp light up!

Something clearly amiss....As ever any clues gratefully accepted. Short again - bad earth? Nothing obvious that I can see..

As Bryan says.

If there’s a bad earth connection the current will earth via the other indicators. So all come on together.

You used to see this a lot in old cars where both indicators would flash. One maybe a little dimmer than the other.

Would I be looking at a bad earth on the tail fuse circuit then?

On mine, I added an extra earth wire from each indicator back to the loom.
It's a lot more reliable.

Could be taillight, clocklights or even headlamp you get to a point with load that it just has to gind a different path

Found it. Poor earth bullet clocklight contact into a multi-connector in the headlamp shell.

Elecktrickery is wunnerfull.

Cant see it
Cant smell it
But if you touch it wrong it bites
Plus it does everything awkwardly

Youl be an exspert yet (ex as in used to be spert as in drip under pressure!)
