Front sprocket
« on: April 09, 2020, 07:08:18 PM »
Hi all,
When I took off the front sprocket on the 400 there were 2 or 3 broken very thin washers in the general greasy gunk.
I can't see any reference to these on the parts diagrams so wondered if they were supposed to be there or something the previous owner added for some reason?
Putting the sprocket on with the retainer the sprocket is very wobbly - is that normal on these bikes?

Cheers,
Andy

Even with a new sprocket and securing washer they tend to be a fairly loose fit, I wouldn't worry too much if you can't see any obvious and visible signs of wear.
nice bike,nothing in the bank

+1 with ka-ja. They all have movement even with all new parts fitted. You will find even when a new chain is fitted and tensioned, its still wobbly.

Thanks both,
It all looks correct and as shown in the diagrams etc. so maybe the last guy just tried to reduce wobble by adding a couple of washers.
I guess it just seems really strange to me as all my other bikes seem to have pretty 'tight' sprockets.

Cheers,
Andy
