All polished up today..........
« on: April 12, 2020, 02:49:58 PM »
.......and nowhere to go!

Can't wait to get my licence back on 2nd July although due to CV-19 the DVLA have currently suspended reapplications (D1 pack) for licences surrendered on medical grounds, so I guess I'll get it back when this lockdown ends. Still, it could be worse.

Nice looking bikes, I keep meaning to get mine out of their hibernation but haven't the heart as I can't ride them at the moment with the lock down on.

Cheers

Thanks folks,

Fingers are now pretty sore, but it beats being found jobs to do around the house or in the garden by SWMBO!

The K1 is almost there, it just needs new tyres and the carbs balancing.

Why did you surrender it if you dont mind me asking as i been there and done it

Bryan,

I had a stroke in late June last year and a number of absence seizures whilst in hospital (the last was 2 July) so because of this I had to 'voluntarily' surrender my licence to the DVLA for a year. I was due to reapply in early May (my Doctor would have completed the supporting medical evidence) but the DVLA have stopped issuing (by post) the reapplication pack and it's not available online. Bit of a bugger really, but such is life.

Get it in as soon as you can if they are still accepting them as they don't seem to exactly rush at re issuing licences that have been surrendered foe medical issues. I know of two that have had to wait several months before receiving them and one had to involve his MP before anything happened.
Has anyone else on here ever surrendered their licence and had no problems getting them back.

Thanks, they're probably worth a little bit more now than when they were new?  ;)

Thanks for the heads-up, I do hope that's not the case.  :-\

Andrew, did you get a letter saying your licence was revoked because if you didnt get that and you only voluntarily surrendered your licence the rules vary a lot

It was not revoked as I opted to voluntarily surrender it - Bev dealt with all that but, will check the rules tomorrow.

Thanks,
Andrew

Both my mates voluntarily  gave up their licenses because they had been told  it would be harder to get them  back  if they were revoked  by the DVLA.
