My F2 had done an 'indicated' 14,000 miles....but after what looks like a long period of standing around, the 40 year old rubber seals were harder than the alloy...and I had quite a bit of residue and muck.
I am giving mine an overhaul and fresh gaskets/jets. Not becuase I reckon they are worn out...but becuase the actualy condition made it impossible to really tell!
When you start to pull yours apart...you will tell pretty quickly whether just a clean will suffice...or whether more is needed.
Getting the float bowls off is nice and easy....and you will either go 'Ok'...or 'Bloody hell....'
Mine were not OK. If the bike had been stood with the float bowls drained...
EDIT: But..yes...have a look inside before spending money.
