A word of warning with any classic bike. Most for sale have been mucked about with over the years and can become a money pit, even ones I have seen in dealers have been thrown together with many incorrect parts, engine swaps, clock changes and so on. Even it a tank has a liner in it, this can cause big problems with it failing, leaking and blocking the carbs  ;)

Thanks Trigger for those wise words of wisdom, couldn’t agree more, any bike I have bought second or multiple hands on has cost me more than I have budgeted for

What he means is if you buy a bike from someone on here you will get a good deal and a sound bike.

If you buy from anywhere else, post a link and people like Trigger etc will give their honest opinion

Welcome fellow Kentonion.

Shouldn't that be 'Kentish Man' or 'Man of Kent' depending on what side of the Medway you are?  ;)

Welcome to the forum.  That is a very nice NC.
Being a Londoner I agree with your sentiment about not being able to go fast anymore due to the roads (mainly their pot-holed condition!) and the sheer amount of traffic and speed camera's that are now average speed camera's and not the one-off fixed variety.  I sold my Blackbird becuasae it was becoming impossible to ride slowly in London. By that I mean trying to do 30mph in1st gear at 1200rpm, trying to change up to 2nd gear at that speed was impossible, the ride became jerky. I now have as much fun on my CB250RSA as I did on the Blackbird, going slow is a lot of fun :)

Welcome from a fellow NC30 owner !

You will enjoy the more sedate ride on a 70's SOHC and definitely find it easier to work on - plugs and valve clearances spring to mind as a pita on the VFR !

Thanks guys for the welcome.

Yep spent many a cold night in the garage checking shims and balancing carbs on the NC.

The system says it is a 1971 bike and the mileage clock is going backwards 2007 41,000 and 2019 at 22,000 miles  ;)

Thanks Trigger,

I can only see the DVLA showing June 73 as 1st reg. how did you get 71?

Also can agree the mileage other than the 2019 MOT is mistype should be 2258 as  current mileage is 2300, was clock reset after rebuild in 2012.

Nope, still get first date of registered -1/07/1971 >>> https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/?_ga=2.104210944.1004988898.1591897954-253097114.1582192924

Good spot, had looked at that but not noticed date of reg, interesting that the details on the DVLA website for vehicle check are different.   I have always leaned towards the vehicle check details as they come from the V5, as I have seen before some real variance on MOTs that are mistakes by the testers, that said not noticed a date difference before.
No, not detailed images unfortunately, just general.

Welcome in, my first bike was a cb100N too.... me and my twin bro had them delivered on our 17th birthdays UEE 53T and UEE 54T.... great little learner bikes and set me off on a life of motorcycling and Honda appreciation...happy days. Don’t discount a USA import if you’re looking for a low milage zero rust easy restoration.... good luck with the search.
