Chase that letter up.Bryan & Moorey Thanks, you prompted me to call the DVLA Drivers Medical Group again this morning - they advised me they are currently processing applications received on 2 May, mine was received on 19 May (signed proof of delivery) and reiterated that although I do not need a DVLA letter confirming I am driving under Section 88 and they do not automatically send one out they have, on my request, marked my medical case file to send me one as soon as my application case reference appears on their system. I have rightly gone down the 'belt and braces' route and have a GP letter confirming I meet the appropriate S88 criteria and there is no medical reason to prevent me from driving; both Admiral and Footman James accepted this and have added me back on my policies as a named driver. The DVLA previously advised a GP letter is not essential or required by them and it is up to me in consultation with my GP whether I feel confident and capable to drive. For those in a similar situation, here's a link to Section 88 - the appropriate criteria for me is on pages 2,3 and the top heading (voluntary surrender) on page 5, see: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/695575/inf188x6-can-i-drive-while-my-application-is-with-dvla.pdfCheers,Andrew
