Petseal in tank
« on: July 11, 2020, 09:49:28 PM »
I have put Petseal in my petrol tank a few years ago, it is now starting to peel off inside the tank. What is the best thing/way to remove this flakey mess?

Also, does ethanol (in petrol) attack the old petrol pipes and the pipes between the carbs?

In my experience, unless you get ethanol proof pipes, the pipe will harden and make it difficult to remove

I have similar problem in my Matchless restored 22 years ago, can’t even remember what type of sealer/liner it was but it’s not looking so good now. Will have to be stripped sometime. Good winter job!

If you end up using POR15 cover all skin use a mask and a fan to blow fumes away from you. I ended up with a rash.
Modern fuel hose I bought from DSS is pricey but super elastic and stays on without clips.
