NOT a vapour balsted engine  :o And the internal parts have also been blasted.

Very confusing write up quote "Bearing in mind that this engine has been rebuilt on original 1975 castings" Strange when engine number is a 1972  ::) No fin rubbers fitted and a crank case bolt missing from the rear  >:(

Trigger, if you don't mind me asking. How do you know the year from the engine number.  I only ask because the motor sat in my f2 rolling chassic is clearly not an f2. (It has more surprises than Cilla).Knowing what it is will be helpful when it comes to gaskets and seal etc.

Ah thank you. 247****CB750E seems to point at 1976 k6, frame didn't seem to be there, CB750G101****. Wonder what the G is? Trying to work out what happened when, is anorak end fun. First Registered in 82 it continues to give itches to scratch.

The engine and VIN list is only for the USA  :o CB750G ? That should be a DOHC and not a SOHC. Little bit of a confusing bike any pictures ? I think i see a CB750F2 SOHC with a G in the VIN but, i am more in to the pre 1976.

or this - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373126537276 - a SOHC - just examples

I sure hope that the seats for the main bearing shells were masked off before the engine internals were blasted / painted or whatever.

If you don't know why I say that, look for a long thread on my CB750K1 and the disaster that unfolded when the previous owner hadn't bothered to do so.

G as understand it is genuine F2 .

Your rolling chassis has all F2 components as far as I can see in the other thread.  Just looks like someone has switched the engine and painted it black.
