Engine Paint Curing

I know it's been covered several times before but what's your views on this
method of curing - I'm using the forum recommended Simoniz Silver which requires upto 220 degree curing.
Don't want the fumes in kitchen and upper crankcase won't fit in oven anyway. Pinched an idea off tinternet and built a 1/4 ply box lined with tinfoil, fitted with cheap oven thermostat and powered by an electric heat gun. Just done quick test and temp gets upto about 160 degrees within 10 minutes and maintains that temp.
Do you think this is sufficient to cure the paint. I intend to heat painted parts initially in kitchen oven to get some heat in the parts. See pics for basic idea of technique.
What's your thoughts

I used my Environmentally friendly Solar Low Bake oven when I did the engine on my SL125 a few weeks ago... 45C in the shade and approaching 70C in the direct sun... for a period of approx 2 hrs.

That’s exactly the setup I used for my 550k3 cases Phil. Seems to work fine as long as you keep temp up.

I don't have much in the way of facilities at all so I just plain cleaned the engine, sprayed it in the frame after lots of masking off and run the engine.......didn't come out too bad at all!

Only trouble is it will be another 2 months before engine is assembled/fitted and paint has to be curred after approx 12 hours

Hi, I used the same method, when I painted my 400F engine. worked very well

Thanks for all the input - sounds like its worth a go - think I just need to put a breather hole near the base of the box to allow air out to avoid heat gun overheating
