WANTED CB750 for project.
« on: December 09, 2009, 09:46:07 AM »
Hi,

I am a new member with the SOHC bug. I want to build a cafe racer based on 70's K series. I want to retain early side panel / oil tank cap look combined with extended tank. Will consider F models but spoked wheels important and tank would be non starter as I want the "chrome filler".

Will consider anything with the right potentail and good motor.

Thanks

Tim

For some other inspiration take a look at Steve 'Carpy' Carpenters site www.cb750cafe.com

Although he is an ex-pat living in California he is doing quite well with the 750 cafe racer look over there. He has shown my 750F2 on his website as it used to be.

I picked up a bit of a mongrel for my project, a K6 with a K7 motor, taxed and mot'd and rode it home, just keep your eyes out they are about just got to find them. I got mine from Ebay.

Yes indeed. What sold me on the idea was the DME bike often talked of on the US sohc site (bike of the month sometime back). Retains classsic lines + interest!
