Yes and quite a cross pollination within that group too. NSU Ro80 car has twin rotor Wankel engine with the overall layout and engineering philosophy going into the Audi 100 car , but the leaving the rotary behind.

John "I saw a couple of rare BENELLI

A 250 twin 2t,and a mint Sei"

There's another connection too with the Benelli Sei, it's to your own Honda 500 John. It really is a 500 copy with two additional cylinders, even the pistons, rods, primary chain plus various other components being interchangeable, apparently.

And thats where the connection ends, the build quality didn't get copied, pile of junk, i had a brand new Sei in 1976 and it leaked from stem to stern, didn't keep it long, put it in for a new Honda 750 K6.

DKW stands for Dampf Kraft Wagen.  Dampf bring the German word for steam.  Just thought I'd share that.

They were one time makers of steam fittings and made a steam driven car.
I drove a DKW car in the sixties - very fast two stroke engined.

I think they inclined the cylinders a little as well.

Failed to get to Willersley – its only 5 miles up the road.
The DK/DS Special is still fighting me; there’s always something.
First run out for the bike in 5 years and my first time back on a bike in 20 years.
All togged up, (new helmet) switched on the fuel and it just poured out all over the crankcase. Took it apart and the O ring was dried out and broken. Managed to nadger up the 14mm hex head too on the fuel cup whilst pulling it apart.
So it was onto Silvers website: £4 for new ‘O’ ring (what!) and £10 for a new fuel tap cup.
I WILL get on the road soon.
Any meet ups in Gloucestershire or Worcestershire, please lemme know.
Ride safe.
1974 Honda XL250 K0 - Silver - owned for 32 years. Not running at the moment
1972 Honda CB750 K2 - Now candy apple red - Ex USA, a DK special - needs a lot more work than I thought - very quickly becoming a DS special...

Dont get me started on Lancaster's, magnificent aircraft and we all owe it so much. If you can join Just jane's restoration fund 'the Rivet Club' hopefully she will be flying again in 7 years or so.

In the meantime here is my 1/10th scale model BIII (Special) ED932

And met a few of the local pagins
