My Bike didn't have them when I bought it and I've struggled to get hold of them, not a great loss as I prefer them without.

What do they look like - I might be able to make some copies?

Really love the idea of a replica of a great machine. All the PR replica's are twoseaters, isn't it? Or are there also single seaters, which would make it more of a replica IMHO?

Cheers, Rob

I bought another seat base from Colin Seeley when he was building the 750SS so that I could have it reupholstered to look like a single seat. Then all I had to do when the missus wanted to go on the pillion was to pull the pin & swap them over.

But it didn't look as good as the seat on your bike Rob.

These are some pictures of a PRR that a fellow VJMC memeber sent to me. Does anyone on here own this now?

OK so it been a while....... but........ I have it back together and tonight I filled her up and tried to get it started....................
It didnt start  :( it backfired a bit and made a few coughs but it wouldnt go. I managed to flat the battery. then kickstarted till I was knackered !
What to do next. Re charge the battery, check the plugs. To be fair it hasnt run for at least 2 years. It was last on the road in 1999. Is there any chance I have the plug leads round the wrong way? as I took off the coils at Christmas.
I will keep you posted but any input would be helpful
Regards
Steve

If they are standard coils / leads I don't think they'll reach the wrong plugs. but worth checking.

Some nice bikes there though.

Try cranking it with throttle held wide open to get some air into it, DON'T pump the throttles as they fill the motor with fuel that is not used and then backfire the unburnt fuel in the exhaust.

Or get someone to push you in second gear with throttles open........close if it fires......quickly!

Sounds like the ignition / points are producing something as it wouldn't go bang otherwise.

One coil should supply No's 1+4 with the opposite from the other coil.

I assume that you have done the obvious with plugs etc. As it has been apart, the carbs have been cleaned etc and fresh fuel in the tank?
Timing correct and no tight valves?

As I don't know what you have done, I sugest that you go back to basics, points (if yoyu have them) timing, new/clean plugs clean carbs (inside), tappets correct, etc.
Do you have a nice spark at the points? then plugs?

Hope I am not teaching Granny to suck eggs here

The spoke end covers were used on the road bike but not on the racer which this is a replica of (the RCB of 1976 I think) so I guess either could be considered correct or of that period.

There is a good book that covers the racers of that period which the style was taken from "RIDE IT!" The complete book of Endurance racing by John Robinson.

Even got a picture of Phil Read on the works RCB in 1977 Bol d'Or, bike No5, partnered but Tony Rutter, as well as lots of wierd and wonderful "developments" from mainly european teams.

Wahey ............... its all running fine now. I had the plug leads on the wrong cylinders  :D - what a prat I am. Now to just get it mot'd - failed last week because of headlamps pointing to high - difficult to get any adjustment on this bike as they are effectivly screwd into the fairing which doesnt have much movement!
Ive taken her round the block a couple of times - she runs well considering she has done about 30 miles in the last 10 years!
However - now she is finished it is time to put her up for sale as I have another project - a 1957 Messerschmitt bubble car in bits.
She will probably go on ebay unless any of you guys know of someone loking for one of these rare beasts?

My PRR had the same problem. The MOT tester looked inside the fairing, saw the way that the lamps were mounted, shrugged and carried on!
