Sounds good, but what did you do with the frame in the end or did I miss that one !

Spitfire, I welded the frame myself after consulting an engineer friend who told me I was making a mountain out of a molehill, not the prettiest of finishes but she is now back to full strength.

Well done for perservering.

Great finish on the engine - what paint did you use, or is at some kind of satin powder coat?

Honda - San, it is a mixture of PJ1 fast black and believe it or not Halfords satin Black as used by my brother on his superb restorations of seventies MX bikes.

Picked up my wheels today after a rebuild, I had alloy rims and stainless spokes fitted by Hagons, they done a nice job. On the way home from Hagons I stopped at the tyre dealer who fitted Avon Roadriders AM26's, I am well pleased with them. Over the next few days i can put the forks in complete with new tubes from David Silver and get her back on her wheels.

Wow those wheels look amazing, do you mind me asking how much the rebuild cost you, both wheels on my F1 are in need of the same treatment.... looking like a great job, good work.... I so wish I had a garage, rained off the driveway again today trying to fix my wiring!

Don't worry Eddie, I found all I need on their web site.....

Stewart, one thing to bear in mind is they have a 6 week waiting list at the moment although I managed to persuade them to do mine quicker on an emergency build at a premium of

Wheels are on as are new shocks, fork tubes, chain and sprockets etc, etc, etc. Altered the marshall deeptone 4 into 1 to look like a Piper from the seventies. Ordered a pair of clip ons today, the light is shining at the end of the tunnel, it's been a long tunnel !

Your not wrong Steve, I tried various angles for the tail section and just preffered this angle, what I was getting at about the Piper look was just a straight section as opposed to a cone type section, there was nothing wrong with the Marshall tail section but it was like a great big traffic cone shoved on the end of the pipe.
