« on: August 19, 2021, 01:53:45 PM »
Afternoon all,

New to the forum and forums in general, so hello to all and apologies in advance for any newbie etiquette errors!

First Motorbike project - 76' CB550 US Import.

Hope this is not sacrilege and I am still accepted but I am converting to a tracker/scrambler style!

Based in Newcastle so any local contacts for help and tips would be welcome.

Look forward to chatting to you all.

Welcome to the Forum. That's a great bike in a terrible state and perfect for a non standard build. Mine was in a state like yours and not worth restoring to stock and this is how mine ended up, 😊😊😊

Build what you like :)

I am not going the 'restoration' route with my 750. I am not throwing away anything that was good....but bars, seat and exhaust were all scrap, so a build that uses different bits where you want isn;t spoiling anything. You are just putting another bike back on the road rather than letting it rust away to oblivion

That is fantastic and would be thrilled if I got gear to it. I’ve got a tuffside seat and frame hoop ready to go on so will look similar…I hope!

Thanks - I have a few bits. I haven’t fully explored the site yet. Is there a section to sell original parts to other members?
