Cylinder Block bottom ring seals question ?
« on: August 25, 2021, 07:19:36 PM »
The new giant O rings do not sit in the recess like the old ones did - will they automatically push down with the weight of the block and fall into place?

If I try and push them into the recess the just come out again - lubricating the rings made no difference.

The rings were with the gasket set it's a NP Made in Japan set that came with the bike.

Did you lubricate them with red rubber grease Ted? They  stay in place if you use that. Just returned your PM.

I'm stunned I just used some red rubber grease and they have stayed in place - brilliant top tip thanks again NJ for your advice.

In the morning I am going to fit the block all being well feeding from the bottom with cylinders 2 & 3 first - I'm going to bed dreaming of it all working out in my head.

I've viewed a video on U Tube so I've done my homework, all preped up and ready watch for the outcome on my project page!!

Not overthinking it honest lol.
