Where did you go this year?
« on: October 13, 2021, 03:21:06 PM »
On the 400/4 that is. Just put mine into winter hibernation and I've done 600 miles in 6 months not going anywhere really, riding for the fun of it. Which is what I got it for after all and I didn't even have the carbs off this year, woo hoo.

Regards,

Arthur.

managed just over 6k on the VFR this year...... so far, just off out now in fact. Would have loved to get the 400 on the road but realistically, with limited funds and still no V5 i gave up. just waiting on an air box from the states and the tank coming back from the painters and shes done........................Just the V5 to come with any luck! ::)

Not been such a good riding year for me as I usually have, only managed about 4000 miles across my multiple bikes. Enjoyed every mile though 😊😊😊😊
All bikes now in hibernation, except the CD250u, which will be the winter hack.

The initial question was "Where did we go?". Y'know what, I cannot really answer that, but I managed to clock nearly 1,000 miles since April, only know this because I keep a log of oil changes etc., and the next one is nearly due. Had a couple of very pleasant ride-outs with two lifelong friends with their British parallel twins, which I have to admit did sound good! Having owned the 400 for 33 years now, I decided it was time to break new ground and fit a rear carrier! I can now use it for collecting bits and pieces from David Silvers, mainly for a 1966 CL 160.  The direct route is about 12 miles, the best biking route entails about a 45 mile round trip, that's why we ride them isn't it?   Stay safe and well everyone. Mike.

As an add-on to the previous drivel, I sometimes sit in the Man-Cave on a Friday evening, and ponder as to what needs doing next. I think I must really do something about the colour of those luggage elastics!!!

Its blatantly obvious what is the first thing to do! It involves the bottles and the opener!

Not been on any tours this year but clocked up about 5k on the VFR mostly rides of 100miles or more (182 yesterday) as part of my IAM practice.  Only clocked up 300 miles on the 400/4. 400miles on the BiL's Z400J following its restoration in August and only about 50 on the 250RSA. The Jota is still up in Scotland having it's engine rebuilt by Keith Nairn, hopefully back next spring :)
