Been out for a quick ride today
« on: March 14, 2010, 05:40:25 PM »
So today I was mostly fitting a power supply for my sat nav and my new mounting bracket.

The supply was easy all I did was buy a cigarette lghter port with some crocodile clips on it. Cut the croccy clips off and attached 2 ring crimps (after soldering them on first then fitting heatshrink).  I then attached them directly to the battery. On my old Guzzi I had them connected to a switched live but as the wiring is so nice on this bike I thought better of it. After all scotchlocks look hideous don't they.

Obviously I had to go for a ride to "try it out"  ;D  The A428 heading towards St Neots was absolutely stationary all the way past Caxton Gibbet and a bit beyond. So I turned a way I've wanted to try out and set Girl-in-a-box to get me home.

While out I came across this sign

After about an hour and a half I reappeared at home feeling much better.

Anyone else been out today?

Lucky thing! I've not been out today. Instead I've been in the cellar trying to make some of the metal tab/brackets that keep the bearing spacers in place inside the 400/ wheels....

I need them as I'm running a fatter axle than standard at the front so have had a to have a new 16mm i/d bearing spacer made up. Tabs haven't turned out as well as I had hoped so will be trying again next weekend.

I had a couple of rides round the block troubleshooting a problem, it's not ready to go much further yet.

I'm rather cross, I've been riding my bike all winter (apart from in the snow) and now the front brake is binding and I'll have to strip the blasted thing, just when the enjoyable riding weather is here! >:(

Been out a few times in the last 2 weeks, it's the sunshine wot does it, even gave the bike a polish which is not my favourite job any more. But I did have to try out my new leathers didn't I !
