UPDATE .. looks like Julies link does it /m

Further to Steve's post Honda AL is Alan Lowe his email is alan@alanlowe.co.uk

He makes wiring looms for quite a large range of bikes and gauge wiring looms for ND gauges. Often the rubber covering of the bulb holders are stuck in the gauge bulb apertures and disintegrate upon removal. The rubber covers are available from David Silver but at about £7 a piece plus the VAT and post.

A problem may also exist is that the bulb holders are corroded. Alan's ND looms come with new bulb holders and the wiring so a better option than just replacing the rubber covers. Saves the trouble of unsoldering/soldering the bulb holder to fit new rubber covers.

Good quality and Alan is a very pleasant to deal with.

Just to clarify these gauge looms are for all CB750 fours, CB550 and CB500 fours that have ND gauges fitted. Kawasaki Z650, 900 & Suzuki GT750 also had ND gauges.

BigAl (Alan):
Thanks for the mention. The lamp holder rubbers that I stock as image, will only fit the larger ND gauges with 14mm lamp sockets... CB750, GT750, Laverda Jota clocks. Most of the smaller Honda gauges have 12mm lamp sockets.

Oddjob:
Are you saying the Nippon Seiki gauges use a different size bulb holder Al?

AshimotoK0:
Both links are great .. thanks!

I measured Honda cable and its around 2.3 to 2.4 mm overall dia with 30 bare copper strands of 0.2mm wire which equates to about 1mm² conductor size

However, the thin-wall cables both companies sell at 1mm² conductor size  is only around 2mm but their 1.5mm² cable has 0.3mm strands but the correct overall OD for Honda's generally (i.e coil wires, indicators etc)

Has anyone  used their  cables and which version did you choose .. I guess for original look 1.5 mm² will be the best and higher current rating but probably a bit stiffer than the original Sumitomo stuff.
