How many miles should expect from an F2 tank.

On a couple of good long motorway and dual carriageway runs I'm hitting reserve at 113 miles. This seems too little to me as I'm not ragging her, nothing more than 6,000 rpm.

I would have thought that 150 to reserve would be more what I would expect.

Hi, sounds about right to me my F1 does somewhere round that to a tank full maybe a bit more or less depending how i ride it   , cheers Mick.

Usually my F2 runs between 150 and 160 to reserve. I tend to cruise around about 6000 rpm  wherever possible too, but often "use it all" under acceleration (non standard silencer - sounds great ).

Working it out over several tank fulls, it generally averages approx 50mpg (11 miles per litre if you prefer)

Yep!! and it's stock.

It doesn't like a lot of choke so I was thinking of diddling with the mixture screws. To check the set up are they the screws at the front of the carb under the inlet rubber?

To just recap everything else is o.k, you know tappets etc.

Possibly it may jets that are too big but I'll cross that afterwards

When my 750 was standard I can remember getting about 120 miles before reserve...but wasn't 6000 rpm about 80 mph? on standard gearing?

At one time I tried one of these http://www.unifilter.com/online%20catalog/streethonda.html as a standard replacement air filter, but when the modifications started the airbox was one of the first things to go.

The air screws are at the very front of the float bowl mounting & should be 1.75 turns out. But I would check that the needles have the clip in the middle position & that the float heights are correct (sorry-I cannot remember off-hand what this should be). All of these will have an effect on fuel consumption, as will gearing & the condition of sparl plugs, chains, sprockets, ignition coil voltage output etc etc.

Hi I got about 120 ish before i hit res most of the time on my F2 so sounds about ok to me.
Float Level is 14.5 mm (0.5709 in) Idle is 1.000 +or - 100rpm  Fast Idle 2750 + or - 750 rpm
Main Jet #105   Slow Jet #35  Main Air Jet #120  Slow Air Jet #150  Jet Needle Setting F2051F-2
Pilot Screw 1 3/4 turns. Hope this helps.
