Oh, yes. Fired up on the button first time - amazingly. Not sure the neighbours will get on with the delkevic🤔

Amazingly it ticked over just fine, if a little high at first. The carbs will need balancing.

Hardest bit was spinning the motor with plugs out until the oil light went out and a slight petrol leak from one float bowl, cured by a swift tap with a screwdriver.

Just waiting for greenspark to supply my long awaited plug caps and I’ll fire up the 500.
Fantastic, it must feel like a major achievement. Well done you. I've been waiting on a back order of plug caps from my supplier for months, there seems to be a worldwide shortage of them. I've tried every company I can find but none have stock 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Edit... No probs, I have stock of them so just let me know when you know exactly what you need.

Cheers, Julie.

The startup was startling and a little unnerving while the motor settled down. It made the cat jump….which is rather topical😀 Fortunately he’s used to bikes revving up so wandered by quite nonchalantly later.

So, yes. I’m very happy….just need to sort out the brakes and swap out the headlamp ears. Oh and get the seat sorted….it never ends.

never warm up a newly rebuilt engine without running it in or without a very good cooling system, the metals are not yet bonded, and everything that is not in contact with each other is still overheating, such as piston rings for example until they are fully seated.

good job !

Cheers ;) Murdock.

I only ran the motor for around 2 minutes, then drained the carbs.

It won’t run again until April at the earliest.👍Feeling rather smug, though.😉
