Cam shaft differences in CB550?

Hey all

In my hunt for a new cam shaft, I found out the cam shaft have two part numbers: 14101-323-000 and 14101-323-000EH. The first superseded the second. I am a little confused though, as the first is a part number for a 27PS cam shaft, which is the only thing I can find for sale. Supposedly this is from the German market, and only has 27hp. I didn't know they came with differences, and haven't been able to find any information anywhere about lower powered CB550 models.

Does anyone have any info on this?

Never heard of the EHpart number so that is probably the detuned one, as far as i know ALL500/550 cams are the same

Might have been me. It came up in another thread, but wanted to make a new one on this topic specifically for future reference and ease of searching. And more answers obviously…

Alex there are quite a few for sale in the UK.

How about you ask someone to buy one for you and send it to you.

When looking on eBay.co.uk I can only find the 27HP version or used ones, that doesn't look to be in a better condition than mine. Do you have other good places to search for it that I am missing?

This one looks pretty decent and cost wise not bad. Pictures slightly fuzzy but most aspects look intact.

How can you tell they are 27hp? That model never came to UK as far as i know and the UK part number DOES NOT have the EH on the end

Ah. actually meant when I search German eBay (which is closer to me in Denmark) only the 27HP version shows up. On the English normal ones come up. Thanks for the links!

Germany had 'gedrosselte' 27PS CB500/550s. Had to do with insurance and riders that just got their driving license.
