Anyone use a front wheel chock?

My new bike (ahem…) doesn’t have a centre stand so am considering one of those roll-on front wheel chocks for storage in my garage. Sidestand leaning takes up too much room.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I’d like to fix it permanently to the concrete floor.

We have one that Graham bolted to the floor of our big box bike trailer but, the stand still won't hold the bike upright on its own, it still needs strapping down. If you want the bike to sit more upright, just put a chock of wood under the side stand.

 I use chocks on the trailer and they are great, wheel the bike in and you can let go and the bike happily stands there whilst i strap it down. In a garage they would be good.  For fastening down to concrete I would use Thunderbolts, just ensure you use the correct size of drill bit. They are easy to remove should you want to move it in the future.

They used to use Bump Stop devices on the Eurostar - not sure if they still do but you just rode the bike over a bump and that brought a flip up V plate behind the front wheel which then rested in a fixed V at the front.  Even on a fully laden GoldWing it was very secure and you just got off the bike and left it - can't remember now if they lashed it afterwards.

I have one in the garage that I use on different bikes from time to time.
Just check that the wheel retainer fits your wheel/tyre width. All the SOHC bikes I have are a bit loose in the wheel clamp and although safe, wave side to side a bit.

I use a small scissor lift with a shaped wood top under the engine/frame, this takes the weight off both tyres when stood in the garage.Below is similar, but mine hasn't got wheels.

I use an Abba front wheel chock on my 550 and it`s fine. Great quality and sensibly priced. Have also had a 1700 Vmax on it with no issues at all.
