Oil pump rotor marks
« on: March 24, 2022, 11:41:28 AM »
I'm sure i've read somewhere that the punch marks on the oil pump inner and outer rotors should face the same way. But typically i cant find where i saw it, so can someone confirm if they should face inwards (ie towards the cog that gets the drive from the engine or outwards towards the outer casing? Or does it not matter at all?
Thanks as always.

When I put new seals in my oil pump I followed this advice with the dots uppermost - as they were when I took it apart.

The only time I might be tempted to do differently would be if yours had been assembled differently then I would build it back as it was.
