My steel liners are a little bit proud of the surface when I pull my fingernail across it. So I'm going to flat it on my surface table or give it a light skim on the Bridgeport.

Why not try just heating the barrels in the oven, the liners should drop down so they are level. They would have been level when they left the factory so unless someone has been playing around in the past, they should be level now.

I've already heated the barrels in the oven once to cure the Simonez paint so they must have moved then! I'll bake them again tonight, but this time I'll support the base so the sleeves are clear and can slip back down.
