MacMillan bike run 2022
« on: September 12, 2022, 06:19:49 PM »
Had a great run out and about yesterday accompanied with good banter and catch up with like minded fellow bikers.
Covering the East mainland with a pit stop then to west mainland and return to Kirkwall for raffle. 197 bikes, quite something to be part of. Ian and I were on our classics 350 four and 750k3. Much enjoyment, covering around 70 odd miles (although I had an extra little run before the start)
Here’s an aerial pic of the pit stop.
Quite a queue for the mince rolls and coffee. (Think I had had mine by the time this pic was taken)

Nice run. “Mince roll”?

Lots of Scottish delicacies up here. Mince and gravy in a roll. Better than it sounds. 😁👍

Yes probably not going to sell it here Gareth, but basically minced beef or steak in a stew, just finer consistency than diced beef. (to be honest I’ve had better)

Yes Johnny,
Another great run out for a good cause - it's a pity Dougie didn't crack the magic '200 bikes' but there's always next year!  Great drone shot too - weather was just about perfect and it was great to see so many folk out in gardens waving as we passed by.  The little 350/4 performed very well and is running about as good as I ever remember - especially when using Nurse Julie's method of 'ride it like you stole it!'  Buying it way back in late 90's as a basket case - I probably did.  Living in the 'Wild West' I did 107 miles door to door, so I think the actual run was about 64.

Ian
