750K5 pattern fork ears
« on: September 14, 2022, 11:24:18 AM »
Hi. Am having trouble fitting pattern fork ears. The ring that holds the boot won't go over the bottom of the ears as they have been made about 2mm too large. Is there a way to get around this or is it another pattern part destined for the bin. As they came from Silver's they can go back but that leaves me earless, and job stop again. Picture below:

Edit: I'm going to return them to Silvers. I am hoping they can replace them after the problem was spotted and rectified (won't hold my breath although the pictures on the website show clear differences around that area). In the expectation that that won't happen, does anyone have a spare set of fork ears. I don't mind a bit of surface rust as they can be re-chromed but dented (like the ones I have) is no good as they are double skinned, so the dents are very hard to knock out. Thank you.
