Notifications

Not sure if this is something I'm doing wrong but I don't get any email notifications for threads or post replies etc

I've got them set in my profile and checked my email address is correct

Any ideas

I don’t get emails about new posts (I switched it off years ago). I do read them all though. Cup of coffee in bed in the early morning and read the forum .

I have noticed that I’ve missed a few new  registration notifications recently though.

I’ll have to go and have a look.

Hi all

I have upgraded the server to use Authenticated SMTP (more cost I'm afraid) which puts the forum on an equal footing with most other mail senders.
This used to be a "luxury added security" feature that some websites used to authenticate the emails sent. Unfortunately nowadays most mail systems reject mail sent from non-authenticated sources.

So, what was an optional extra at cost now becomes the baseline requirement...

I've sent myself a few PMs and it works.

Let me know if anyone has any more trouble.

I've altered my profile settings today to receive an email if a reply is posted on a thread I'm involved with but still not getting any emails, just got a PM and no email, is there anything on the settings page I should be ticking?

Mine are set like this

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Yeah, it suddenly started working. Mine are set the same.
