Tried to rebuild a pair of 1979 - 76k 1302 with the assistance of Geoff at IKON Australia. A lot of the “new” internals will not fit especially seals, gland nuts etc - access to a machine shop is essential if using original piston rod. The thread in your aluminium body maybe @ 1mm smaller diameter than the new gland nut - although the pitch is same - but a good m/c shop should be able to help. Alternative rod seals are available - but again may have to m/c new IKON nut inner housing to accept rod seal. If you can keep original piston & rebound assembly then it should be OK. A lot of extra hassle (& expense) - otherwise you are looking at new replacement shocks. I preferred the alumin. Original look so persevered with my employers tool room. I think the original Dutch Koni bike suspension was based on old imperial sizes - not metric - IKON stuff seems metric.
