My BIL might have one Roo, he found a stack of old parts including some front wheels recently so one of them may have it fitted.

Sadly, he's currently sitting in hospital ATM waiting for his mum to die so I don't really feel like asking him ATM.

As soon as he's available I'll ask him if you haven't sourced one before that.

Yeah, it's a shit situation, they gave her just a few hours 2 days ago, then she lasted the night with my wife sat by her side, then they changed it to 24-48 hrs so we are all just waiting for the inevitable now. There's a very faint glimmer of hope she may pull through but it's not something I'd bet on. She's on palliative care and that normally means the hospital have given up on her.

For a MIL she was ok, we got on well. I always used to wind here up by saying stuff like "I'm still shagging your daughter" She'd laugh and give me a thump.

I was at the death of my MiL & my FiL a few years ago. It's never an easy time - seems the younger they are the harder they fight to live.

Makes me feel mortal and thankful for every day

Cheers Ted but it wont fit sadly. Although the part has a supersession and although fits 40 odd bikes in the range they're still as rare as,  it appears.                      Through boring Bryan to death with it via PM and phone I understand that if I buy a 750 speedo unit from (Identified as K7 as a good starting point)  with (323) as the middle config of ID numbers it should fit. I can source a few of those but holding on for the right bit for the minute which is being a bit of a pig tbh. I often dive in and wish I'd been a bit more patient so having a bloody good hunt. Theey must be rare if us lot cant find one! Especially Ken...he's got a right stash ;D ;D

There's various things I can do to make/modify this one but trying not to reinvent the wheel. There's an autojumble scrum at Shepton Mallet which is only 20mins from mine on Saturday, so going early to have a hunt and see if I can find a complete hub on the cheap to disect for treasure but we'll have to see whats about if I cant score one on here from my hoarding peers on here.

I did pop and see a mate of mine today as after reading a bit about polymer adhesives for pond liner repairs this morning............as you do! (WTF! ::)) I had a thought that my pal works for Autoglass and they use proper full on rubberised polymer adhesive to glue windscreens in and they dont often drop out do they and take a right hammering.

Soooo,  I bobbed up to see him to see if he could bond it back in if I tidied it up a bit.........which he's done. It might sound a bit Heath Robinson but in theory I cant see it being an issue, it's not like the rubber in the middle takes that much of a battering as I understand it, Honda may have introduced this mod on these plates as a solution to flickering speedo needles and complaints from owners according to Bryan. The rubber acting as a damper. If thats the case, windscreen mastic/adhesive, nasty black stuff should perform the same????  If its only taking up the slack from the speedo trnsmission then I reckon it might be a gower, he says, eyebrows raised! :(

I'm willing togive it a go so I'm just waiting for it to set and I'll have a look. It's currently clamped as one assembly, on the spindle, on the bench  in the hope it will help in keeping everything in its right alignment and place. I still want a replacement but at least I can get things in and on until I find one whilst the build moves on.

Just had a bag of gubbins come in today that I sent myself from The States this morning, which was seals, set of indicators for the rear that are brighter than the ones i had and some other bits and bobs so it's been a reasonable day full of postal joy :). The other day I was on a right crap mood after finding the retainer butchered. I cant wait to send the pillockI bought it off a piccy when its done. I have found so much sheer fu*kwittery on this bike it kind of got to me the other day but I'm back on it and beavering away in the burrow with Planet Rock burbling away in the background and the dog getting in the way. Ace, normal service has been resumed. (thumbs up emoji)
