This must have been one of the real bargains at the Bonhams Auction due to their lack of knowledge/attention to detail .. 'Circa 1974' my eye .. It's a very early '68 matching numbers UK model CB250 SS with correct tank, guards ,seat and hubs. Assembled 1st month of production. Even the DS museum example doesn't have that correct front hub. Sold basically for scrap value.

When they 'sold'  the Honda UK press bike YLY 70H a few years back (well it didn't sell in the end due to a cock-up) their description was rubbish, so I sent them the correct info and got a free £25 catalogue to allow me entry into the auction. I think it's £30 for a catalogue now and it's no-catalogue, no entry.

Its not just Bonhams, its virtually every Auction house. A short while ago, one was selling an "original" TR7 V8. Only 20/30 were factory made, the rest all after market mods. They were told it wasnt an original car by quite a few people and it was ignored. The new owner then tried to sell it on as such but didnt get a buyer!
