CB400/4 Tools
« on: November 14, 2022, 09:12:15 PM »
Hello all.
Does anyone have any tools they wish to sell? I am looking for all of the bespoke ones, such as front/rear bearing retainer ring, clutch lock nut, alternator/flywheel puller, and 1/2inch drive head stock locknut, fork oil seal drift tool, plus anything else I might have missed! ( I do already have the tappet adjuster )
I understand I could possibly fashion some up but would rather have the correct ones.
Please feel free to message me with anything you have.
Many thanks.

I might have a few of the bits you need - but in all honesty I don’t really want to ‘break up’ the box. That said, there are a few bits missing from this box set so I need to catalogue it all properly. All NOS.

I bought this kit in 2020 when it was a bit cheaper than it is now.
I'll keep mine until I part with my 400 in a couple of years time.

Thank you Ted, seen this, keeping this in mind as a fall back option if nothing gets offered up to me in here.

I bought my kit when I was not as cost conscious as I am now - beginners enthusiasm & all that!

True. I have plans to create a shadow board like they did in the workshop, I have so many special tools though I need 2 boards at 4ft x 3ft each.

Welcome Terry (My wife Cathy pointed him here as she sold him a few 400F parts). Worth introducing yourself in the new members bit. Quite a few members on here from the NW.

This is my 750 set but I'm in the same boat as James ..pretty sure it has extra bits and some bits missing. I must go through it sometime.
This set originally came from Honda UK's Service Centre Wollaton Road Nottingham .. probably used to service the Brighton Bike but can't prove the provenance  ;D

Also agree with Trigger that most of it never ever  gets used and the most useful bits are the alloy blocks, used when fitting pistons to bores. Used one last week on my C110.

No Ash the most used tool in the workshop was the fuel line clamp, especialy on the small bikes with crossover pipe, 2nd the long carb adjusting socket/screwdriver.
Rebuilding engines was less common than servicing
