These things are a challenge to common sense - yesterday I realised I had not fitted the steering column bottom outer race - it will be interesting to see if I can fit it working upside down or if I need to remove the rear wheel, swing arm, stand and fit it with the frame upside down as I did on the 400.I'm assuming your centre stand is the one you took off not a spare stand.Any news when the "Eagle will Land" (Laverda) ?
Removed the new "genuine Honda" spring to measure and it seems it is 145mm end to end ..... which would probably be the issueI've ordered again from classic honda ... another genuine Honda one so time will tell (Attachment Link)
Without a doubt. The attached on eBay looks about 5 1/16 inch. Might be worth asking them to check before they send it.
There's something wrong with that picture. The coils should be tight and without any gaps whatsoever. Either the spring is faulty and was supplied like that or the coins have opened the coils. I would always use a spring puller or lever it on using a long screwdriver. That way the whole spring shares the stretch rather that the coils when coins are used.
You can have my old spring f.o.c. to fit in the meantime if it helps?
Result! Good news! 👍Simon ps. Took mine for a spin today having only been out briefly since fitting Mark P’s ignition. Seems to tickover cleaner when cold and warm, pull more eagerly and cleanly from low revs. Nice. 👍👍
