2ft Steel rule anyone?
« on: November 30, 2022, 03:51:42 PM »
Fitting some 500mm carpet tiles in our bathroom and thought it might be a good idea to buy a 2ft steel rule to make measuring awkward places a bit easier. A tape rule is awkward to use accurately.  I already have a 300mm (1 ft) which is sometimes too short and a 1 metre one which is sometimes too long where pedestals and toilets are.

Saw this on ebay today, should I go for it?

We are having some floor tiling fitted at the moment. The guy doing it has a flat steel 4 m straight edge about 8cm wide that just winds up into a coil. So cool! Boys and toys etc.
One day I'll have the time to restore it, not just talk and dream....

Ask if they do one with line of cords . You may have to pay a little more but they are useful.

It made me wonder what these folks are on!  I thought a genuine 550 F full exhaust system at £2995 was a bit steep, but that ruler must be a record (or is that a 7"disc with a hole in the middle?)
I do like the sound of that flexible coiled strip that Tim mentioned though, must do a search for one of those.

When they have none in stock....the price defaults to a nonsense figure....just to stop any further enquiries. I suppose it has something to do with the Seller not having to end the 'Auction/ Sale' because they are out of stock and then having to redo the whole advert again when stock becomes available once more.
just my view of course...and I am often wrong....especially where VAR is concerned. I have to agree with the Spurs Manager Antonio Conte who said "How can they get the VAR decisions wrong....all they have to do is sit in front of a TV screen and see what happens and then make a decision'" !
Now: 2008 CB1300S, CB750K4, 1970 Bonneville. Various other 1960's 650 Triumph T120's/ TR6's/ TR6C's (all in bits...many, many bits unfortunately). Previous: 2007 CB600FA, 1976 CB500 Four. BMW F800ST. GS750E. ZZR1100. CB1300 (2). ZXR1200S. VFR800. CB750 Nighthawk. CX500. XS500 Yam. Suzuki GT500. BSA A10. Various Lambrettas. Zundapp Bella (honest).

Yes, there is an ebay seller I buy from occasionally who does just that. Maybe it saves on some fees?
